SIRM's Student Support and Welfare Department arranged industry trip for our current Cyber Security Apprentices to The University of Gloucestershire on 15th February 2018, Thursday. We arrived at University campus at 12:30pm and were welcomed by Jordan Allison (Outreach and Widening Participation Support Officer). He took us to the Cyber Computer Lab and introduced to us his cyber security academic colleagues including Michael Brown (Postgraduate Assistant in Cyber Security) and Olakunle Olayinka (Postgraduate Assistant in Cyber Forensics). Both the academic assistants delivered a work shop on Cyber Security and Mobile Forensics and gave the opportunity for Questions and Answers. Information about the progressions to undergraduate degree programs was also furnished in detail. After the work shop, a tour of the university campus was given including Computer Labs, Library, Lecture Halls, Cafeteria and Theaters. We were warmly welcomed and entertained during the entire trip. All our apprentices found this trip very interactive, informative and worth attending.
